How to Rotate, Delete, Extract and Watermark PDF Pages

Last updated November 2, 2026

Most PDF fixes come down to four page operations: remove pages you do not need, pull out the pages you do need, turn sideways scans upright, and stamp a watermark before sharing. This guide shows how to do each one for free in your browser with Uvolix, how to write page ranges, and how to do the same with tools you may already have. Uvolix PDF tools run on your device; the file is not uploaded.

Page ranges: the one thing to get right

Every tool below asks which pages to change. Use page numbers as your PDF viewer shows them, separated by commas, with a hyphen for ranges:

  • 3: only page 3
  • 1,3-5: pages 1, 3, 4 and 5
  • all: every page (Rotate PDF and PDF Watermark)

Check whether a cover or contents page shifts the numbering: page "1" printed on the document may be page 3 of the file. A range outside the document, such as page 9 of a 5-page file, is rejected with a message rather than silently ignored.

Delete pages from a PDF

  1. Open PDF Page Delete and choose your PDF.
  2. Enter the pages to remove, for example 2,7-9.
  3. Select Process PDF and download the result.

The remaining pages keep their order and content, including selectable text. You cannot delete every page; at least one must remain. To keep only a few pages from a long file, extracting them is quicker.

Extract pages into a new PDF

  1. Open PDF Page Extract and choose your PDF.
  2. Enter the pages to keep, for example 2-3.
  3. Download the new PDF that contains only those pages.

Need several separate files at once, such as chapters 1โ€“3, 4โ€“6 and 7โ€“9? Use Split PDF, which creates one PDF per range. To join pages from different files, use Merge PDF.

Rotate PDF pages

  1. Open Rotate PDF and choose your PDF.
  2. Pick 90ยฐ clockwise, 90ยฐ counter-clockwise or 180ยฐ.
  3. Enter all or only the sideways pages, for example 2,5, then download.

Rotation is saved in the file, so the pages open the right way up for everyone. Scanned pages tilted by a few degrees cannot be straightened this way; rescan them or use a scanner app with auto-straighten.

Add a watermark to a PDF

  1. Open PDF Watermark and choose your PDF.
  2. Replace the example text with your own, such as CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT or Copy for ABC Bank only.
  3. Choose the pages and the opacity (0.05 is very faint, 1 is solid; around 0.2โ€“0.3 keeps text readable), then download.

The watermark is drawn diagonally across each selected page. A watermark discourages misuse and shows where a copy came from, but anyone with editing software can still try to remove it, so do not rely on it as security.

"Print to PDF" re-creates the document, so links, form fields and bookmarks may be lost. The Uvolix tools change the original file's pages instead. On phones, a browser tool is usually the simplest free option because built-in PDF features differ between devices.

Before you send the file

  • Open the result and scroll through every page.
  • Check the page count matches what you expect.
  • Keep the original until the recipient confirms the file is right.
  • Rename the file clearly, for example contract-signed-pages-1-4.pdf.

FAQ

Are these PDF tools free?

Yes, with no account and no watermark added unless you add one yourself.

Will deleting or rotating pages reduce quality?

No. Pages are copied as they are; text stays selectable and images are not recompressed. To make the file smaller, use Compress PDF.

Can I edit a password-protected PDF?

Not usually. Remove the password with the software that created it, if you are authorised to, and try again.

See all PDF tools on the PDF tools page.

Ready to try it?

Delete selected pages while keeping the remaining PDF.
