How to Remove an Image Background

The Uvolix background remover makes a selected background color transparent directly in your browser. It works best for product photos, logos and graphics with a plain or near-uniform background.

How to use the background remover

1. Select a JPG, PNG or WebP image.
2. Keep automatic corner detection enabled when the background reaches the image corners. Otherwise disable it and choose the background color manually.
3. Increase tolerance to remove a wider range of similar colors. Use Soft edge to smooth the subject boundary.
4. Select Process Remove Image Background, inspect the transparent preview and download the PNG.

Getting a clean result

Start with tolerance around 40–60. Raise it slowly if background patches remain. Reduce it if parts of the subject become transparent. Complex scenes, hair and backgrounds with many colors require AI segmentation and may not be fully removed by color detection.

Privacy

The image stays on your device. Pixel processing and PNG creation happen locally in the browser without an external API.
